Welcome to Year 2! We hope you and your family had lovely summer holidays. All of the staff in Year 2 are looking forward to getting to know your children and showing them what life in Year 2 is all about. This is just a brief letter to help you through the first few weeks. We will provide further information as the term goes on. I will also endeavour to update our class webpage regularly. There will a meeting for Year 2 parents on Thursday 22nd September at 3pm.
Staffing: Teacher- Mrs Manley (Full time, all day everyday, except Weds pm).
LSA’s: Mrs Parfitt ( Mon/Tues- all day)
Mrs Tidy ( Weds/Thurs/Fri - all day)
PPA will be covered by Mrs Parfitt on a Wednesday afternoon.
Snack: Every morning children are provided with a small bottle of milk or water and a healthy snack (either fruit or vegetables). To ensure this continues throughout the year we rely on a voluntary contribution of £1.25. This can be paid weekly or £8.75 for the half term.
PE: PE lessons will normally take place on a Monday and Wednesday.
PE kit is a school t-shirt and shorts for indoor activities and a school t-shirt, shorts or joggers and trainers for outside activities. If your child has long hair please make sure it is tied back on the days we have PE and that no jewellery is worn. If earrings must be worn then please cover them with plasters or micropore tape .Please send both PE kits in and they can be kept in school until the half term holidays. On a few occasions throughout the year we may not be able to have PE on our set days due to a variety of reasons. By keeping both kits in school this enables us to change days and always access PE lessons. PE will start next Monday 12th September.
Forest School: will be on a Wednesday afternoon ( beginning 21st Sept). This will continue as it was in Year 1 with children attending sessions on a fortnightly basis. We will send a letter home regarding dates asap.
The school day starts at 8.55am but doors will be open from 8.50am
If you have any questions or queries about Year 2 and school life please do not hesitate to come and ask.
