Free Breakfast Provision

Free Breakfast Provision

We offer free breakfast provision on a pre-booked basis only.

Numbers are limited in order to comply with Health and Safety. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 6 places per year group (Reception to Y6). This is co-ordinated through an electronic booking system which is run on a termly basis in order to give people a regular chance of applying for a place.

Allocations are on a first come first serve basis.

Once year group places have been filled any further applications will be placed on a waiting list.

Electronic bookings will be processed by the school and only those pupils with a confirmed pre-allocated place will be able to attend.

Where will free breakfast be provided?

Free breakfast will be provided in the school hall.

Children will be met by a member of staff at the double doors to the hall next to the kitchen.

What time is the free breakfast provision available?

The doors open at 8.20am

A member of staff will be there to greet your children. Please remain with your child until the doors open.

They will not be allowed in before this time.

Doors will close at 8.30am. – Children must arrive before this time in order to give them time to eat their breakfast.

A register of children will be kept for Health & Safety purposes.

Children will be required to wash/sanitise their hands before and after eating.

Breakfast provision staff will allocate them a space at a table in the hall, where they must sit for the duration of the session.

Children will go to their classes between 8.45am and 8.50 am, when they have finished eating their breakfast. (Learning time begins at 8.55am.)

What will be provided?

Now that we are all back in the school we will be able to provide the following:

•         Toast

•         A choice of cereals

•         A piece of fruit

•         Fruit juice/water

We comply with the Welsh Government Healthy Eating Regulations.

All parents/carers sending their child to our free breakfast provision must agree to the following.

Declaration

  • I understand that this provision is for my child to have breakfast and that it is not child care provision.
  • I understand that if my child regularly refuses breakfast their place will be withdrawn as it is likely that others will be on a waiting list who would like a place for breakfast.
  • I understand that if my child’s behaviour is unacceptable, their place may be withdrawn.
  • I understand that if my child is allocated a place but regularly does not attend, they place may be withdrawn as there is likely to be a list of children who are waiting for a place.
  • I understand that my child is not allowed to bring their own food to the free breakfast provision.
  • I will notify the school immediately in writing if my child no longer requires their place.
  • I understand that I will need to re-apply for a place on a termly basis. (This may have to change to a half-termly basis if demand requires it.)
